GO Transit’s Local Transit Partners

Connecting to Local Transit with Ontario's One Fare

We know your journey doesn’t stop with GO Transit. Ontario’s One Fare makes it easier and more affordable to travel across the region by helping you pay less when transferring between transit systems.

Only pay once when travelling between the TTC and participating transit agencies, including GO Transit, Brampton Transit, Durham Region Transit, MiWay, or York Region Transit.

Your discount is automatically applied when you:

  • Tap with a PRESTO card, credit or debit card, or digital PRESTO card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet™
  • Remember to tap on each time you travel on a participating transit agency and tap off when travelling on GO Transit with the same method of payment for the One Fare discount to take effect.

Please note: GO e-tickets are not eligible for One Fare.

Veterans and members of the Canadian Armed Forces can travel free on GO Transit

Veterans and members of the Canadian Armed Forces can ride for free on GO Transit when travelling with a valid ID, such as their Veteran’s Service Card or a Canadian Military Service ID, without needing to tap their PRESTO card. Customers also have the option to set a new fare type on their PRESTO card to take advantage of One Fare discounts. Customers who have enabled the new fare type on their PRESTO card will be able to transfer between participating local transit agencies for free using One Fare once they have tapped their PRESTO card. Customers can visit a staffed GO Station and ask a station ambassador to add the new fare type to their PRESTO card. During fare inspection, customers will be asked to present their valid ID such as a Veteran’s Service Card or a Canadian Military Service ID. Learn more here.

PRESTO

PRESTO will automatically apply your free transfer when you tap to pay and connect between GO Transit and your local transit service. Whether you choose to tap on with your physical PRESTO card, PRESTO in Google Wallet™ or Apple Wallet, or PRESTO contactless payment with a credit or debit card, you must use the same payment method throughout your entire trip to receive the discount. Currently, you can tap with a physical PRESTO card, PRESTO in Google Wallet™ or Apple Wallet, or a credit or debit card when connecting with GO Transit on Burlington Transit, Brampton Transit, Durham Region Transit, HSR, MiWay, Oakville Transit, TTC, and YRT.

Local transit agencies that use PRESTO, such as Brampton Transit, Burlington Transit, Durham Region Transit, Oakville Transit, and YRT also accept a valid GO single-ride paper ticket or day pass ticket as proof of GO fare payment.

If your local transit agency DOES NOT use PRESTO, you can show your physical PRESTO card, PRESTO in Google Wallet™ or Apple Wallet, or credit or debit card as proof of a valid GO Transit fare on local transit. A valid, GO single-ride paper ticket or day pass ticket will also be considered proof of GO fare payment on local transit.

Please note:

  • GO e-tickets are not accepted as proof of GO fare payment on local transit. They are not eligible for One Fare.
  • If you have a transit pass for a local transit agency, you will receive a free transfer to other local agencies that are part of One Fare. However, you won’t receive the discount when you transfer to GO Transit and you will instead pay your usual GO fare.
