Burlington Waterfront Bike Trail - Burlington

There’s no shortage of scenic views on the Burlington Waterfront Trail, which offers some of Halton’s Region’s best mountain bike trails. It also features eight waterfront parks, a stunning beach, a renewed downtown waterfront and a promenade. Featuring on and off-road areas, this trail will accommodate novice and expert riders alike. Want to absorb some culture after your ride? This trail connects directly to Burlington’s Downtown Waterfront area, which features a variety of local shops, the award-winning Art Gallery of Burlington and the Joseph Brant Museum.

✔️Must-see: After a day of cycling, enjoy an afternoon of family fun at the Dofasco Waterjet and Playground, which is the perfect place for parents to relax as the kids play.

Jefferson Forest Bicycle Trail – Richmond Hill

Explore one of the best dirt bike trails in Ontario at Jefferson Forest, which features a combination of dense forest with rugged forest paths, and easy to ride urban trails. The diverse landscape of this forest features a variety of stunning wildlife and vegetation that’s just waiting to be appreciated. Aside from cycling, the trails in the Jefferson Forest are often used for hiking, walking, trail running, and nature trips from April until October.

✔️Must-see: Lake Wilcox Park is along the Jefferson Forest Trail. This waterfront park that includes a playground, youth area and the Oak Ridges Community Centre. It’s a great spot to land after a day of mountain biking in Toronto.

Named after Betty Sutherland, one of the first women to be elected to North York council in 1972, this scenic trail meanders along parts of the East Don River near Sheppard Avenue and Leslie Street in Markham. This is one of the best bicycle trails in Toronto, and it’s also great for those who want to take a hike or walk along the Don Valley River.

✔️Must-see: There’s an abundance of wildlife in this area, especially along the Don Valley River. Fall is an ideal time to explore this area, as it provides closer access to the river.
