GO Transit’s Local Transit Partners

Connecting to Local Transit with Ontario's One Fare

We know there’s more to your journey than your trip with GO Transit. That's why with Ontario's One Fare Program, you can transfer for FREE when travelling between GO Transit and most local transit systems – making your commute easier and more affordable.

Starting February 26, 2024, the One Fare Program is expanding to include Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). This means your TTC fare will be free when you connect with GO Transit, regardless of travel direction.

Learn more on the PRESTO website
You can transfer for free when you travel between GO and TTC.

This is in addition to free transfers offered between GO Transit and other participating local transit agencies, which includes connections to and from GO and these local transit systems: Durham Region Transit, Milton Transit, Grand River Transit, Guelph Transit, Oakville Transit, MiWay, Brampton Transit, Hamilton Street Railway (HSR), Burlington Transit, Bradford West Gwillimbury Transit, York Region Transit (YRT), and Peel Region's TransHelp. If you’re a Barrie Transit rider, you’ll continue to receive free fare. And now, TTC is added to the list!

Please note: GO e-tickets are not eligible for One Fare.

PRESTO

PRESTO will automatically apply your free transfer when you tap to pay and connect between GO Transit and your local transit service. Whether you choose to tap on with your physical PRESTO card, PRESTO in Google Wallet™ or Apple Wallet, or PRESTO contactless payment with a credit or debit card, you must use the same payment method throughout your entire trip to receive the discount. Currently, you can tap with a physical PRESTO card, PRESTO in Google Wallet™ or Apple Wallet, or a credit or debit card when connecting with GO Transit on Burlington Transit, Brampton Transit, Durham Region Transit, HSR, MiWay, Oakville Transit, and YRT.

Local transit agencies that use PRESTO, such as Brampton Transit, Burlington Transit, Durham Region Transit, Oakville Transit, and YRT also accept a valid GO single-ride paper ticket or day pass ticket as proof of GO fare payment.

If your local transit agency DOES NOT use PRESTO, you can show your physical PRESTO card, PRESTO in Google Wallet™ or Apple Wallet, or credit or debit card as proof of a valid GO Transit fare on local transit. A valid, GO single-ride paper ticket or day pass ticket will also be considered proof of GO fare payment on local transit.

Please note:

  • GO e-tickets are not accepted as proof of GO fare payment on local transit. They are not eligible for One Fare.
  • If you have a transit pass for a local transit agency, you will receive a free transfer to other local agencies that are part of the One Fare Program. However, you won’t receive the discount when you transfer to GO Transit and you will instead pay your usual GO fare.
