Dispute your fine
If you would like to attempt to resolve your Parking Infraction Notice through Metrolinx’s dispute resolution program, you must submit a request for a Review of the Administrative Fee by a Screening Officer within 15 days of receiving it.
Here are the two options available to you:
- If you acknowledge the parking offence and wish to seek a reduction in the fine amount only, use our fast, online Automatic Fine Reduction (AFR) to see if you are eligible for an automatic reduction. You’ll get an immediate response to potentially reduce your fine. Click here to submit your request.
- If you wish to dispute the Parking Infraction Notice and the fine and/or your notice starts with “GO” or "G", please provide as much detail as possible in your submissions regarding the Notice or the amount of the fine and submit your request here.
Please submit your request using Google Chrome or MS Edge. Compliance Services may not receive your request if submitted through the Safari browser.
If you disagree with the decision from either of these options, you may request a trial in the Provincial Offences Court in the jurisdiction where your parking infraction occurred, by completing a Notice of Intention to Appear (located on the reverse side of your Parking Infraction Notice) and send it by mail to:
Metrolinx Compliance Services
277 Front Street West, 4th Floor
Toronto, ON. M5V 2X4
(Mailing address only; not for in-person services)
Once you have sent the Notice of Intention to Appear, you’ll receive a Notice of Trial with the Provincial Offences Court in the jurisdiction where your parking infraction occurred with the date and time of your trial. Failure to attend your trial date may result in a court conviction being registered against you.
Also, please note that any unpaid fines relating to a parking infraction issued by Metrolinx may result in your vehicle’s licence plate being denied for renewal until all outstanding fines and court costs are paid.
