Here is the information we have to report at
15:25, January 5, 2009:
BRONTE GO STATION:
The escalators have been taken out of service as GO Transit is
preparing to replace them with stairs. Customers requiring mobility
assistance are requested to use the elevators.
PORT CREDIT GO STATION:
The south escalator is out of service. Passengers requiring access to
the platforms may use the elevators.
UNION STATION:
Escalators 4/5 and 6/7 are out of service.
As part of GO Transit’s long term plan to improve Union Station,
we are preparing to install a staircase which will provide direct access
from a new Bay West Teamway entrance. In order to prepare for the
new entrance and staircase, we need to remove escalators 4/5 and 6/7.
For passengers requiring assistance, the elevator to Platform 7/8
is located along the southwest wall of the GO Concourse. The elevator
to Platforms 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 is located along the south wall of the
GO Concourse.
WHITBY GO STATION:
Escalator #1, serving the main station building to/from the tunnel,
escalator #2, serving the tunnel to/from tracks 1 & 2 are out of service.
GO Transit will be removing escalators #1 and #2 and replacing
them with stairs. These two locations are accessible by elevator for
customers needing mobility assistance.
